With markets closed on Saturday and Sunday, the latest available trading prices remain relevant for weekend buyers. As the festive season begins, consumers planning to purchase jewellery should check the latest rates in their city before making a decision.
Gold Price Today: Latest MCX and IBJA Rates
Gold futures for December 4, 2026, delivery closed at ₹1,51,503 per 10 grams on the MCX on October 9. The contract gained 1.27%, equivalent to ₹1,893, during the session.
According to IBJA, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,49,430 per 10 grams on October 9. Since IBJA does not publish fresh rates on Saturdays, its previous published rate remains the latest available reference for the weekend.

Gold Prices Increase by ₹1,292 in One Week
IBJA data shows that 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,48,138 per 10 grams on October 1. By October 9, the rate had climbed to ₹1,49,430 per 10 grams.
This represents a weekly increase of ₹1,292 per 10 grams.
The rise comes amid continued movement in gold prices, making it important for buyers to compare current rates before purchasing jewellery or investment-grade gold.
Will Festive Demand Push Gold Prices Higher?
India’s festive season is beginning, with Navratri starting on October 11. Demand for gold often receives additional attention during festivals, when many households consider buying jewellery and other gold items.
Market observers expect festive buying to potentially support prices. However, stronger demand does not guarantee a price increase, as gold rates can also respond to wider market conditions.
Consumers planning purchases should keep an eye on daily price movements and compare rates across local jewellers before placing an order.
