Gold Price Today: Gold and silver prices have remained volatile, with rates moving up and down frequently. If you are planning to purchase gold jewellery, it is important to check the latest market price before making a decision.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold prices declined on September 12. The rate of 24-carat gold fell by ₹269 to ₹1,53,018 per 10 grams. Silver also recorded a decline, with the price of 1 kilogram dropping by ₹3,742 to around ₹2.30 lakh.
Here are the latest rates for different gold purities along with the current silver price.
Gold Price Rise in 2026
Gold has witnessed a significant increase in price this year despite periodic fluctuations. On December 31, 2025, 10 grams of gold was priced at approximately ₹1.33 lakh. The rate has now climbed to around ₹1.53 lakh, representing an increase of nearly ₹20,000.
Silver, meanwhile, was priced at approximately ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram on December 31, 2025, and is currently around the same level.
During the year, both precious metals also touched their respective record highs. On January 29, gold reached around ₹1.76 lakh per 10 grams, while silver climbed to approximately ₹3.86 lakh per kilogram.
24-Carat Gold Rate
According to IBJA, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold is ₹1,53,018 after a decline of ₹269.
24-carat gold is considered the highest-purity form commonly traded in the bullion market.
23-Carat Gold Rate
The current price of 10 grams of 23-carat gold is ₹1,52,405, according to the IBJA rate.
22-Carat Gold Rate
For 22-carat gold, the price stands at ₹1,40,164 per 10 grams.
This purity is widely used for making jewellery because it offers a balance between gold content and durability.
18-Carat Gold Rate
The IBJA rate for 18-carat gold is ₹1,14,764 per 10 grams.
18-carat gold contains a higher proportion of other metals compared with 22- and 24-carat gold and is commonly used for certain types of jewellery.
14-Carat Gold Rate
The price of 14-carat gold is ₹89,516 per 10 grams, as per the provided IBJA rates.
Silver Price Today
Silver prices have also moved lower. According to the IBJA, 999-purity silver is currently priced at ₹2,29,900 per kilogram.
The metal had declined by ₹3,742 compared with its earlier rate.
