CNG Price Hike: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has become more expensive in several parts of Uttar Pradesh, adding to the fuel expenses of vehicle owners. The revised rates have affected cities including Lucknow, Unnao, Agra, Ayodhya and Sultanpur, with the increase varying from ₹2 to ₹3.25 per kg.

In Lucknow, the CNG price was increased by ₹2 per kg on Saturday. The rate has moved from ₹105 to ₹107 per kg. In Unnao, the price has also gone up by ₹2, taking the rate from ₹101.75 to ₹103.75 per kg. The revised prices in both Lucknow and Unnao came into effect from October 3.

Agra will see its CNG price rise from ₹105 to ₹107 per kg from October 4. The highest increase has been recorded in Ayodhya and Sultanpur, where the price has climbed by ₹3.25 per kg. CNG in these two cities has increased from ₹101.75 to ₹105 per kg.

Why Have CNG Prices Increased?

According to sources, the latest revision is linked to higher gas procurement costs. Changes in spot gas prices and fluctuations in currency exchange rates have contributed to the increase in expenses associated with procuring gas.

The higher CNG rates are likely to increase fuel costs for vehicles that depend on natural gas. Private car owners, taxi operators, auto-rickshaw drivers and commercial transport services could all be affected by the revised prices.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Also Increased

Along with the CNG price hike, petrol and diesel prices have also been increased by Nayara Energy, adding further pressure on fuel expenses.

The company has raised the price of petrol by ₹5 per litre, while diesel has become ₹3 per litre more expensive. These revised rates will apply specifically to Nayara Energy petrol and diesel outlets.

Nayara Energy Revises Fuel Prices Again

This is the second petrol and diesel price increase announced by Nayara Energy this year. Earlier, on March 26, the company had increased petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre.

The March increase was later withdrawn on July 1 after international crude oil prices declined. Nayara Energy has now raised petrol and diesel prices again, bringing another increase in fuel costs for customers using its outlets.
