Consumers planning to purchase home appliances during the upcoming festive season may have to spend more this year. Several major electronics and home appliance manufacturers are preparing to increase prices from October 1, 2026, with air conditioners, televisions, washing machines and other products expected to become more expensive.

The planned price revisions come ahead of the festive shopping period, when demand for consumer electronics and household appliances typically rises. Manufacturers are citing higher input costs, including copper and steel, along with the ongoing conflict in West Asia as some of the factors behind the price increases.

Appliance Prices to Rise From October 1

According to a PTI report, the upcoming price revision will mark the third round of price increases in the consumer electronics and home appliance industry during 2026.

Air conditioner prices are expected to see an immediate increase of around 5–8% from October 1. Other products, including refrigerators, washing machines and LED TVs, could see price increases of approximately 3–4%, depending on the manufacturer and product category.

The timing of the increase is significant as companies prepare for festive-season sales, when many consumers purchase new appliances for their homes.

Which Companies Are Increasing Prices?

Several leading brands have already announced or indicated price increases across different product categories. These include Blue Star, Godrej Appliances, Haier, Daikin and Super Plastronics.

The reported increases across categories range between 4% and 10%, although the exact revision may vary depending on the product.

Panasonic, meanwhile, is still evaluating the situation and has not yet made a final decision regarding a price increase.

AC Prices Could See the Biggest Impact

Air conditioners are expected to experience one of the more noticeable price increases, with prices projected to rise by around 5–8% from October 1.

According to the PTI report, LG and Bosch Home Comfort have already increased AC prices by approximately 5%. Other manufacturers are also reviewing their pricing as higher raw material costs continue to affect production expenses.

For consumers planning to purchase an AC, TV, washing machine or refrigerator during the festive season, the revised prices could therefore affect the overall purchase budget.
