Actor and reality television personality Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, has opened up about a previously private chapter of his life during his time on Bigg Boss 20. In a conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, Gullu revealed that he was married in 2024 and the marriage ended in divorce after around four to five months.
The revelation came as Gullu discussed the emotional experience with Qazi, describing it as more serious than a conventional breakup.
Gullu Opens Up About His Divorce
While speaking to Qazi, Gullu said he had experienced a major heartbreak but clarified that it was not simply a relationship breakup.
“I had a serious heartbreak. Not something like a breakup, I had a divorce,” Gullu said, leaving Qazi surprised.
When Qazi asked about the timing of the marriage, Gullu explained that he got divorced in 2024 after being married for only a few months. He described that period as deeply difficult and said he initially continued trying to make the relationship work.
According to Gullu, his marriage took place partly because of family expectations. He said marriages tend to happen at an early age on his side of the family and that he eventually realised the relationship was not working.
Wedding Pictures Were Leaked During Roadies
Gullu also recalled how his divorce proceedings coincided with his association with Roadies. He said photographs from his wedding were leaked online while he was in Goa with the Roadies gang.
“I was in Goa with the Roadies gang and someone leaked out images. I thought it was a game over for me. I didn’t know what to do,” he recalled.
The actor said the situation became even more difficult because of disagreements within his family. While he wanted to end the marriage, his family members were reportedly against the decision.
Gullu said the disagreement resulted in his family cutting him off at the time. He added that it took around a year for the issues surrounding the marriage and divorce to be resolved.
Gullu Says He Chose to Focus on Work
Reflecting on the difficult period, Gullu said he eventually decided to concentrate on his career and move forward.
He said he believed that things could only improve after what he had experienced and chose to focus his attention on work. According to him, the situation had taken a toll on him, but he has now moved past that phase.
Qazi later changed the mood of the conversation by creating a song for Gullu, saying that its lyrics matched his personality. The two contestants then ended their discussion on a lighter note.
Earlier Controversy Over Wedding Photos
Gullu’s revelation also brought attention back to an earlier controversy involving his wedding photographs. When the pictures had surfaced online some time ago, he had reportedly dismissed them as fake.
His latest comments inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, however, provided new details about the marriage and the circumstances surrounding his divorce.
