Amazon has announced the date for its Great Indian Festival 2026, with the much-awaited festive sale set to begin on October 8. The event will bring discounts and promotional offers across smartphones, electronics, fashion, beauty products, household essentials, groceries and several other categories.
SBI cardholders will also be able to access an instant 10 per cent discount on eligible transactions. Amazon Prime members are set to receive additional benefits of up to 10 per cent, adding another advantage for subscribers during the festive shopping period.
Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 Date and Offers
The Amazon Great Indian Festival will officially begin on October 8, the same date as Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. Amazon is also preparing a wider festive campaign covering shopping offers, delivery services, customer features and seasonal hiring.
Customers using eligible SBI cards will receive an instant 10 per cent discount on select transactions. Amazon has not yet provided complete details about which products or transactions will qualify for the additional card benefit.
The sale is expected to cover a wide selection of products, with Amazon promoting multiple types of deals throughout the event.
Smartphones, Electronics and Other Categories
The upcoming sale comes at a time when smartphone prices are facing pressure because of a shortage of memory components. The Great Indian Festival could therefore provide customers with opportunities to look for offers on smartphones from major brands, including Apple, Samsung and Google.
Apart from smartphones, Amazon says the campaign will feature deals across televisions, fashion, beauty products, household essentials and groceries. The company has described the event as an opportunity for customers to find some of the year’s major prices across a broad range of products.
Amazon will run several different deal formats during the sale, including Blockbuster Deals, Top 100 Deals, Mega Deals and 8 PM Deals.
Other promotions will include Buy More, Save More, Exchange Mela, Sample Mania and Amazon Combos. Customers will also have access to exchange offers and interest-free EMI options across various categories.
AI Shopping Features and Prime Benefits
Amazon is also bringing AI-based shopping features to its festive campaign. Customers will be able to use AI-powered tools integrated into product pages and search to compare products, check price history and receive recommendations.
These features are intended to help shoppers evaluate products and make comparisons before completing their purchases.
Prime members will also receive access to special festive entertainment on Prime Video. Amazon is planning exclusive original content across different genres and languages, although the company has not yet announced the specific titles included in the lineup.
Amazon Expands Delivery Network Ahead of Festive Season
Amazon is also increasing its logistics capacity ahead of the festive shopping season. The company has announced plans to create more than 160,000 temporary jobs across its logistics network, which covers 400 cities in India.
The company is also undertaking its largest operational network expansion so far. The expansion includes 20 new fulfilment centres, six sortation centres and 150 last-mile delivery stations.
Amazon’s network currently supports more than 2 million sellers across the country. The company says more than 300,000 sellers have been added to the platform over the past year.
Its quick-commerce service, Amazon Now, currently reaches millions of customers across more than 60 cities. Amazon plans to expand the service to 100 cities before Diwali. Customers can check whether Amazon Now is available in their location by opening the Amazon shopping app and looking for the “Now” banner.
