Speculation around the cast of Hanuman Ansh 2 has been growing, with reports suggesting that Akshay Kumar could be part of the upcoming sequel. The rumours gained attention after producer Anupriya Nagar previously described the Bollywood star as her “favourite actor.” However, Nagar has now clarified that Akshay Kumar’s involvement in the film has not been confirmed.
Anupriya Nagar Denies Akshay Kumar Casting Reports
The speculation began after Anupriya Nagar was asked about Akshay Kumar potentially appearing in Hanuman Ansh 2. Her earlier response, “Voh Maharaj ji batayenge” (Maharaj ji will tell), led many to believe that the actor could have an important role in the sequel.
However, in a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Nagar directly addressed the reports and denied making any announcement about Akshay’s casting.
“I have not said anything regarding Akshay Kumar in part 2. It’s false,” she said.
Her statement makes it clear that there is currently no confirmation of Akshay Kumar being part of the second instalment of the planned Hanuman Ansh trilogy.
‘Hanuman Ansh’ Continues Its Strong Box Office Run
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh arrived in theatres on August 7, 2026. The film is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life and follows the early life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj Ji. Shobhinaw Satyaa plays the lead role.
The film had a modest start at the box office but gained momentum through strong word-of-mouth. By September 29, 2026, Hanuman Ansh had reportedly collected around INR 312.38 crore net in India, while its worldwide gross stood at INR 408.00 crore.
‘Hanuman Ansh 2’ Already in Development
Made on a reported budget of approximately INR 2 crore, the film has recorded a reported ROI of more than 200 times, or over 20000%.
Hanuman Ansh is planned as a trilogy, with Vishal Chaturvedi previously confirming that work on the sequel is underway. The second instalment is expected to explore further significant chapters from Neem Karoli Baba’s life.
For now, however, Akshay Kumar’s reported involvement remains unconfirmed, with producer Anupriya Nagar dismissing the current casting reports as false.
