The firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai has triggered criticism from opposition leaders, with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant and Congress leader Sachin Sawant questioning the Maharashtra government’s handling of law and order and raising concerns about public safety.
Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed in the incident, which was reported under the jurisdiction of Juhu Police Station. Reacting to the shooting on Sunday, Arvind Sawant condemned the attack and questioned whether ordinary citizens could feel safe in the city.
Speaking to ANI, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader described the incident as serious and criticised the state of law enforcement in the country, particularly in Mumbai.
Arvind Sawant Questions Mumbai’s Law and Order Situation
Arvind Sawant expressed concern over the alleged deterioration of law and order, asking whether the government was doing enough to protect the public.
“This is a truly grave incident; no amount of condemnation is enough. Unfortunately, there is no law and order in this country, and the situation in Mumbai is even worse… Is an ordinary citizen safe in this country? That is the most critical question,” he said.
The MP also questioned how police resources were being deployed, arguing that adequate personnel appeared to be available for controlling peaceful protests but not for ensuring public safety.
“The government has thousands of police personnel at its disposal; thousands are deployed to stop peaceful protesters, yet there is no police force available to provide security,” Sawant said.
He further criticised the government over the alleged involvement of a jailed gangster in orchestrating such incidents, describing the situation as a serious failure of governance.
Sachin Sawant Criticises Maharashtra Government
Congress leader Sachin Sawant also condemned the firing incident and questioned the government’s response to a series of security-related incidents involving prominent figures in Mumbai.
Referring to the murder of Baba Siddique, the attack on actor Salman Khan’s residence and the latest incident involving Tiger Shroff, he raised concerns about the safety of people in the film industry.
“The attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff today is a very serious matter. We must ask: what has this government reduced Mumbai to?” he said.
Sachin Sawant also pointed to reported threats against Bollywood actors and producers, questioning the police response and alleging that such incidents had increased over the past few years.
He said the government must accept responsibility for ensuring public safety and condemned the attack in strong terms. He also questioned what ordinary citizens could expect in terms of security if prominent personalities were facing such threats.
Tiger Shroff Safe After Juhu Firing Incident
The shooting was reported within the jurisdiction of Juhu Police Station in Mumbai. Tiger Shroff was confirmed to be safe and had not suffered any gunshot injuries.
The incident has prompted opposition leaders to raise questions about the city’s security arrangements and the state government’s handling of law and order. Their remarks have placed renewed focus on the need to address concerns about public safety in Mumbai.
