Reality TV personality Akanksha Choudhary has levelled serious allegations against the organisers of a Navratri event in Pune, claiming she faced mismanagement, non-payment and an incident she described as resembling kidnapping. The actress, known for her appearances on shows such as Lock Upp 2 and Splitsvilla X6, shared her account through a series of Instagram stories, bringing attention to her alleged experience at the event.
Akanksha Choudhary Details Alleged Incident at Pune Event
The controversy concerns a Navratri celebration held at Pedkar Grounds in Pune, where Choudhary was scheduled to appear. According to her claims, the organisers failed to manage her transportation properly, despite the event being expected to conclude around 10:30 PM.
Choudhary alleged that she was not picked up at the scheduled time and had to repeatedly ask the organisers to arrange transport to the venue. She claimed that they initially appeared unwilling to take her there.
The situation allegedly took a more serious turn when she was made to sit in a car and taken towards the venue without members of her team accompanying her. Choudhary recounted that the people in the vehicle stopped in front of a crowd and attempted to make her get out against her wishes. She said she locked the car doors to prevent them from opening.
According to her account, the vehicle was subsequently driven towards a dead end, where someone again opened her door while other people were present nearby. She described the experience as frightening and accused the organisers of behaving inappropriately.
Actress Accuses Organisers of Non-Payment and Misusing Her Photos
In a series of Instagram stories, Choudhary tagged the event company and several individuals, accusing them of cheating her. She also alleged that her photographs had been used to promote the event even though her payment had not been cleared.
Choudhary pointed out that a large crowd had gathered to see her, but she was not given an opportunity to meet her fans. She suggested that the organisers had used her name and photographs to attract attendees without fulfilling their commitments to her.
She further alleged that the people involved were approximately 18 years old and appeared confident because of their financial resources and local influence. Choudhary claimed they discussed their next steps in Marathi, a language she said she could not understand.
Expressing anger over the incident, she warned that she would approach the police and said she did not want other artists to face similar treatment.
Latest Update: Complaint Filed Against Akanksha Choudhary
In a subsequent update, Choudhary revealed that the individuals she had accused of cheating her had reportedly filed a complaint against her at a police station. The development followed a heated confrontation during which she allegedly slapped one of the event organisers.
She also claimed that she was being pressured to delete her Instagram stories detailing the incident, adding to the dispute between the two sides.
The allegations have raised concerns about the treatment of performers at public events, particularly regarding arrangements for transportation, agreed payments and the responsibilities of event organisers towards invited artists.
As of October 19, 2026, no public statement or response from the event organisers had been reported. The claims and counter-allegations remain part of an ongoing controversy surrounding Choudhary’s appearance at the Pune Navratri event.
