Farmers across India are waiting for the 24th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The previous, 23rd installment was released in June 2026, when around ₹18,880 crore was transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore eligible farmers.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched in 2019 to provide financial support to eligible farming families. The government has also directed authorities to ensure 100% coverage for the creation of Farmer IDs, with the Revenue and Agriculture Departments responsible for the process.
The government has not yet officially announced the date for the 24th installment. October 20 is being discussed as a possible date among farmers, but it should not be treated as an official release date until the government makes a formal announcement.
PM Kisan 24th Installment Expected in October
Under the PM Kisan scheme, installments are released at four-month intervals. Based on this schedule, the 24th installment is expected to be released in October.
A recent post by the Ministry of Agriculture on X also highlighted the importance of completing the required verification processes. Farmers may face issues receiving the installment if their e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding or land seeding is incomplete.
Therefore, farmers waiting for the next payment should check these details in advance.
How to Complete PM Kisan e-KYC
Farmers can complete their e-KYC online through the PM Kisan portal using the Aadhaar OTP-based facility. The process is available free of charge.
If the mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar, e-KYC can also be completed through biometric authentication at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
How to Check Aadhaar Seeding of Bank Account
PM Kisan payments are transferred directly to beneficiaries through DBT. For the payment to reach the bank account, the account needs to be Aadhaar-seeded.
Farmers can visit their bank branch to check whether their account is properly linked with Aadhaar and seeded with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) system for DBT payments.
Before the 24th installment is released, farmers should also verify that their bank account details are correct and that their Aadhaar is linked to the account.
Is October 20 the Confirmed PM Kisan Payment Date?
There is currently discussion about October 20 as a possible date for the 24th installment. However, the date has not been officially confirmed by the government.
The final payment schedule will become clear only after the Ministry of Agriculture announces the release date. Farmers should therefore avoid treating October 20 as a confirmed payment date.
Who Is Eligible for PM Kisan Benefits?
The PM Kisan scheme covers eligible small, marginal and other farming families whose agricultural land is registered in their names.
Under the scheme, a farmer family consists of a husband, wife and their minor children. The installment is released in the name of the head of the eligible farmer family.
