Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Krish Agrawal. Imtiaz shared glimpses from the engagement ceremony on his Instagram Story, while Ida’s contemporary take on traditional Indian fashion also drew attention.
For the occasion, Ida wore a custom-made single-taar hand-embroidered chikankari corseted saree gown designed by Amit Aggarwal. The outfit was paired with an intricately embroidered lace drape, bringing together traditional craftsmanship and a modern silhouette.
Krish Agrawal’s Engagement Look
Krish Agrawal opted for a sophisticated ensemble featuring a long crepe jacket with tailored trousers. The outfit included molded cording around the curved neckline, along with metallic Nucleus buttons and a pre-draped pocket square.
The carefully structured details gave his engagement outfit a polished and contemporary finish.
What Imtiaz Ali Said About His Daughter’s Engagement
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Imtiaz Ali described his daughter’s engagement as “the greatest happiness” for him. He also revealed that Krish had spoken to him before proposing to Ida.
Ida has shared details about her relationship with Krish publicly and has frequently posted pictures and moments from their travels together. In July 2026, she shared a picture of Krish proposing to her on one knee and also showed off her engagement ring.
Ida revealed that Krish works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. The couple has not announced any wedding plans so far.
Ida Ali’s Work And Creative Journey
Ida Ali has built a presence on Instagram, where she has more than 70,000 followers. She directed her first short film, Lift, at the age of 17 and later wrote the Amazon miniTV romantic drama Uljhe Hue.
She also co-hosts the podcast Why Are The Curtains Blue with social media influencer Kareema Berry. Ida studied at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California.
In addition to her filmmaking work, she launched a digital platform called Refresh, which focuses on youth and mental health. She recently directed another short film titled Sink In.
