HMD appears to be preparing to introduce a new smartphone in India, with the company beginning to tease the upcoming device on social media. A recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, has revealed a glimpse of the phone’s rear design and confirmed that it will be available through Flipkart.
While HMD has not officially revealed the smartphone’s name, the teaser points towards the possibility of an HMD Pro model. The company also appears to be placing significant attention on the phone’s camera design.
HMD Pro Teaser Shows Dual-Camera Design
HMD shared a 13-second teaser on its official social media account with the tagline, “Pro is about to focus on one thing: your Vibe.”
The video offers a brief look at the handset’s rear panel. The phone appears to feature a silver finish with rounded edges and a vertically arranged dual-camera system.
The two large camera sensors are positioned one below the other inside a rounded rectangular module. A smaller circular element located below the top camera is likely to serve as the LED flash.
New HMD Smartphone Coming to Flipkart
The teaser carries a “Coming Soon” label and confirms that the upcoming HMD smartphone will be sold through Flipkart. Its arrival also appears to be connected with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale.
However, HMD has not yet announced the phone’s official launch date, price or complete specifications.
The use of the word “Vibe” in the teaser has also led to speculation about a possible connection with HMD’s Vibe series. However, the company has not confirmed whether the upcoming handset will officially be part of that lineup.
Expected Price and Specifications
For reference, HMD previously launched the Vibe 2 5G in India at a starting price of Rs 10,999.
The smartphone features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by an octa-core Unisoc processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, while its camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor.
Other specifications include an 8MP front camera, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
HMD is yet to reveal whether the upcoming smartphone will share any specifications or pricing details with the Vibe 2 5G. More information about its name, price, specifications and launch date is expected to be announced by the company.
