Prabhas’ much-awaited period drama Fauzi has been postponed, changing the release lineup for the final month of 2026. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film was earlier scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 3, 2026.
The makers have now decided to delay the release, citing the extensive post-production work involved in the large-scale project. The postponement also means Fauzi will no longer compete directly with several other major films planned for the December window.
Producer Ravi Shankar Confirms ‘Fauzi’ Delay
The release change was confirmed by Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers during the pre-release event of Nani’s The Paradise on September 21.
Speaking about the delay, the producer said the additional time would allow the team to further refine the film’s large visual presentation. He also highlighted the scale of Prabhas’ appearance in the movie, comparing its grandeur to his look in Baahubali.
Ravi Shankar described Fauzi as a massive project and said the audience would appreciate the additional effort once the film arrives.
‘Eetha’ Gets More Space in December
Fauzi was earlier expected to enter a busy December release schedule alongside Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri, both of which are scheduled for December 4, 2026.
With the Prabhas-led film moving out of its original date, Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha now has a clearer release window. The biographical drama is scheduled to reach theatres on December 4.
Eetha marks Shraddha Kapoor’s return to the big screen following the box-office success of Stree 2 in 2024. The film also stars Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
The movie is based on the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, a celebrated figure associated with Marathi Tamasha and Lavani.
