The fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 concluded on September 19 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, bringing together participants from across the global semiconductor industry. Held from September 17 to 19 under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” the three-day event featured more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international participants. Representatives from 52 countries and more than 150 speakers also took part.
The event featured six Country Pavilions representing Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden, along with 12 State Pavilions. These showcases covered different areas of the semiconductor value chain and highlighted industry, technology and ecosystem development.
Over 51,000 Registrations Recorded
SEMICON India 2026 recorded 51,656 registrations, while cumulative footfall during the three-day event was around 40,000. The conference brought together stakeholders from semiconductor design, manufacturing, packaging, equipment, materials, research and talent development.
The event also included a Startup Pavilion, Workforce Development Zone, Innovation Showcase and Student Hackathon, adding a focus on emerging companies, innovation and skill development.
PM Modi Inaugurated the Event
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated SEMICON India 2026 and highlighted India’s movement from policy discussions and project planning towards commercial semiconductor production.
During the event, the Prime Minister interacted with young chip designers and students. He also virtually inaugurated commercial production lines at CDIL Semiconductor in Mohali and Suchi Semicon in Surat.
56 MoUs and Strategic Initiatives Announced
The three-day conference saw 56 MoUs, announcements and strategic initiatives covering several areas of the semiconductor ecosystem. These included semiconductor design and fabrication, advanced packaging, equipment and materials, power electronics, Artificial Intelligence, high-performance computing, research and development, logistics, technology commercialisation and workforce development.
The concluding session added 15 more announcements and collaborations, covering areas such as indigenous processor development, AI and quantum platforms, fabrication management, startups and workforce development.
