OnePlus is reportedly preparing to introduce its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 16. While the company has already started teasing the upcoming device, detailed specifications have surfaced online ahead of its official launch.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has reportedly shared information about the OnePlus 16 on Weibo, including details about its display, processor, cameras, battery and charging capabilities. According to the leaked information, the smartphone could arrive with a massive 9,000mAh battery and a 200MP primary camera.
OnePlus 16 Expected Specifications
The OnePlus 16 is confirmed to support a 165Hz refresh rate. Reports indicate that the smartphone could feature a BOE X4 display panel. On the software side, the device is expected to run ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.
For performance, the upcoming flagship may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. However, OnePlus has not officially confirmed the processor specifications at this stage.
The battery is expected to be one of the biggest upgrades on the OnePlus 16. According to Digital Chat Station, the phone could pack a 9,000mAh typical-capacity battery, while its rated capacity may stand at 8,780mAh. The battery is reportedly designed using a dual-cell configuration.
200MP Camera and Fast Charging
The OnePlus 16 could also receive major improvements in charging and camera hardware. The leaked specifications suggest support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
If these details are accurate, the battery capacity would represent a notable increase over the OnePlus 15, which comes with a 7,300mAh battery.
For photography, the smartphone is rumoured to feature a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. The camera setup could also include a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor.
For selfies and video calls, the OnePlus 16 may feature a 50MP autofocus front-facing camera.
OnePlus 16 Launch in India
OnePlus has not yet revealed the official launch date or India availability details for the OnePlus 16. Some reports suggest that the company may not bring the OnePlus 16 to the Indian market.
Instead, the OnePlus 16R could reportedly be introduced in India as the company’s flagship offering. However, these availability details remain based on leaks and have not been officially confirmed by OnePlus.
