Train Cancelled: Railway passengers travelling through Ghaziabad, Delhi, New Delhi, Palwal, Sahibabad, Meerut and Moradabad should take note of a major upcoming change in train services. Northern Railway has announced a 10-day power and traffic block at platform number 4 of Ghaziabad railway station, which will affect several important train services.

As many as 18 train services will be cancelled or affected during the maintenance period. Most of the cancellations will remain in effect from September 25 to October 4, 2026. Passengers are advised to check their train schedules and running status before leaving for the station.

Why Are Trains Being Cancelled at Ghaziabad?

According to the railway announcement, the temporary block has been planned to carry out track and infrastructure work at platform 4.

During the maintenance period, old and deteriorated railway tracks will be removed and replaced. The railway authorities will also replace worn-out and damaged sleepers with new ones.

The work is intended to improve railway infrastructure and enhance operational safety and passenger convenience at Ghaziabad station.

Palwal-Ghaziabad Passengers Face a Different Cancellation Schedule

While most of the affected services will be cancelled between September 25 and October 4, passengers using the Palwal-Ghaziabad route should pay special attention to the dates.

Train number 64051, Palwal–Ghaziabad EMU, will remain cancelled from September 24 to October 3, 2026. In other words, its disruption will begin one day earlier than the main 10-day block period.

Passengers travelling on this route should therefore plan their journey accordingly.

Platforms Changed for Around 45 Other Trains

The disruption will not be limited to cancelled services. Railway authorities have also changed the platforms of around 45 other trains at Ghaziabad station.

Instead of platform 4, these trains are expected to use platforms 3, 5 or 6 during the maintenance work.

This temporary platform change could cause confusion for passengers, particularly those who regularly use Ghaziabad station. Travellers should therefore check the latest platform information before boarding.
