Maaya Sakamoto Joins the Madoka Magica Movie
Maaya Sakamoto, widely recognized for roles such as Motoko Kusanagi in the Ghost in the Shell franchise, lends her voice to the new character known as Wasu.
The character is presented as an upperclassman whose true name and identity remain unknown. Her visual design has already attracted attention because of her striking resemblance to Homura Akemi, raising questions about her possible connection to one of the franchise’s most important characters.
The movie’s promotional materials have been carefully released to avoid revealing major surprises, making the new character’s identity one of the film’s intriguing mysteries.

Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus is handling the screenplay, while aokiume returns for character designs. Junichiro Taniguchi adapts those designs for animation.
Music for the movie is once again being composed by Yuki Kajiura, while Gekidan Inu Curry returns to create the distinctive Witch Spaces that have become an important part of the Madoka Magica visual style.
The original voice cast is also returning, along with performers from Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story.
