Ducati is preparing an updated version of its Panigale V4 superbike for the 2027 model year, bringing improvements to engine performance, chassis behaviour and electronic rider assistance. The Italian manufacturer has also expanded the personalisation options available for the Panigale V4 S, allowing customers to customise the motorcycle with additional colours, liveries and accessories.
The latest update focuses on improving track performance and rider control while retaining the motorcycle’s established 1,103cc engine platform. The changes include a small increase in power, revised gearing, a modified front frame and two new electronic functions designed to improve braking and cornering performance.
2027 Ducati Panigale V4: Engine and Performance Updates
The 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 continues to use the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale four-cylinder engine. Ducati has revised the air-intake arrangement, lubrication system and exhaust to reduce power losses and improve overall performance.
In its Euro 5-compliant configuration, the standard motorcycle produces 218hp at 13,500rpm, an increase of 2hp over the outgoing version. Peak torque is rated at 120.6Nm at 11,000rpm, compared with 120.9Nm at 11,250rpm previously.
Ducati has also changed the final-drive gearing from 16/41 to 17/42 by adopting larger sprockets. The rev limiter has been increased to 15,000rpm in second through fifth gears, allowing riders to spend more time accelerating between gear changes.
According to Ducati’s testing at the Vallelunga circuit, the updated motorcycle completed a lap 0.4 seconds faster than the 2026 model.
For buyers seeking additional performance, the optional Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO system adds 11hp and 7Nm. It also reduces the motorcycle’s weight by 6.6kg compared with the standard model’s stated 191kg figure.
Chassis, Suspension and Handling Improvements
The Panigale V4 retains its monocoque chassis, but Ducati has modified the front frame to reduce lateral stiffness by 12%. The change is intended to improve front-wheel grip and provide clearer feedback when the motorcycle is leaned over at high angles.
Combined with the revised gearing, the updated chassis is designed to make the bike more responsive during rapid direction changes and easier to manage on winding circuits.
The standard Panigale V4 comes with a fully adjustable Showa upside-down front fork and a fully adjustable Sachs rear monoshock.
The V4 S receives a higher-specification suspension setup featuring Öhlins components at both ends, along with the Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension control system. Weight-saving measures bring the V4 S’s claimed weight to 187kg without fuel, compared with 191kg for the standard version.
Another V4 S-exclusive feature is its adjustable clip-on handlebars. The arrangement allows the handlebar position to be raised by 10mm, providing additional leverage and control while reducing the effort required during quick changes of direction.
New Electronic Features for Better Braking and Cornering
Ducati has expanded the Panigale V4’s electronic rider-assistance package with two new functions.
Dynamic Engine Brake uses Ducati’s Vehicle Observation algorithm to manage engine braking more effectively. It replaces the previous Engine Brake Control system and is designed to provide more predictable behaviour when entering corners, particularly at extreme lean angles.
The second addition, Race Brake Control, is designed to optimise the rear wheel’s contribution during braking. Both systems make their debut on the Panigale V4 with the 2027 update.
The motorcycle continues to offer its existing electronic equipment, including multiple riding and power modes, a bidirectional quickshifter and other rider-assistance systems.
Ducati Panigale V4 S: New Colours and Personalisation Options
For the first time, the 2027 Panigale V4 S will be included in Ducati’s Factory Made personalisation programme. Customers will be able to choose from 11 paint colours and two liveries, named Corse and Performance.
Five colour options are drawn from Automobili Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation programme. These include blue, purple, light green, yellow and orange.
Customisation extends beyond the exterior finish. Buyers can also select accessories such as the Front Brake PRO and PRO+ packages, an STM dry clutch and adjustable footpegs.
These options allow customers to configure the V4 S according to their styling preferences and intended riding use.
2027 Ducati Panigale V4 Launch Timeline and Expected Price
Ducati plans to bring the 2027 Panigale V4 and V4 S to European dealerships in March, followed by their arrival in the United States in April. Launch dates for other markets, including India, have not yet been confirmed.
In India, the 2026 Panigale V4 was priced at ₹32.05 lakh for the standard version and ₹39.01 lakh for the V4 S, with both figures representing ex-showroom prices.
The updated motorcycles are expected to cost more than their predecessors, although Ducati has not confirmed Indian prices for the 2027 models.
