Nani’s much-anticipated period action thriller The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela, arrived in theatres worldwide on September 24, attracting considerable attention from moviegoers. Following its premiere shows, audiences took to X to share their initial reactions, praising the film’s action, technical quality and Nani’s intense performance. However, opinions remain divided, particularly over the screenplay and the film’s second half.

While several viewers have appreciated the movie’s gritty atmosphere and large-scale action sequences, others have raised concerns about its pacing, excessive violence and inconsistent storytelling.

The Paradise Audience Review: Nani’s Performance Wins Praise

Nani has emerged as one of the most appreciated aspects of The Paradise, with viewers highlighting his physical transformation, commanding screen presence and commitment to the character. His performance in emotionally significant scenes, especially those involving family and the mother-son relationship, has also received positive responses.

Director Srikanth Odela’s portrayal of a dark and harsh world has attracted attention, with audiences praising the film’s production scale, visual presentation and atmospheric setting. Several moviegoers believe its action sequences and larger-than-life moments are best experienced on the big screen.

Despite the appreciation, some viewers have expressed reservations about the writing and the film’s heavy reliance on graphic violence. A section of the audience has also pointed out similarities to familiar elements seen in recent pan-India action films, suggesting that these choices sometimes weaken the emotional impact of the central conflict.

The Paradise First Half vs Second Half

The first half of The Paradise has received largely favourable reactions. Viewers have described the opening portion as a slow-burning narrative that gradually establishes its world and introduces the challenges faced by the tribal community. The interval sequence, in particular, has been highlighted for its intensity and high-energy execution.

Nani’s performance, Anirudh Ravichander’s background score and the film’s production design have also been praised for building tension and maintaining audience engagement during the initial portions.

The second half, however, has proved more divisive. Several viewers have criticised its uneven pacing, choppy editing and repetitive action sequences. According to these reactions, the screenplay loses momentum after the interval and places greater emphasis on prolonged violence than on developing its characters.

Some audience members have also raised concerns about the sound mixing and abrupt transitions between scenes. These issues, they feel, affect the film’s emotional continuity and make it difficult to maintain the same level of engagement as the story approaches its climax.

The Paradise Cast, Story and Other Details

The Paradise marks the second collaboration between Nani and director Srikanth Odela after their 2023 film Dasara. The period action drama is set in the 1980s and follows an oppressed tribal community struggling for identity and survival under a ruthless feudal system.

Alongside Nani, the film features Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music for the project.

The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board because of its intense action content. It is currently playing in theatres worldwide in multiple languages.

With Nani’s performance and the film’s technical execution earning appreciation, The Paradise has made a strong impression on some viewers. However, criticism of the second half, screenplay and excessive violence has resulted in mixed audience reactions, making the film a subject of debate among moviegoers.
