American YouTuber MrBeast recently attended a Mumbai event for Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated Ramayana, joining Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey and Namit Malhotra. During the event, a paparazzo greeted MrBeast by saying, “Jai Shri Ram, Mr Beast.” Unsure of how to respond, the YouTuber was guided by Ranbir Kapoor, who asked him to say, “Jai Shri Ram.” MrBeast then repeated the chant.
Ranbir, who plays Lord Ram in the upcoming film, also spoke about the significance of Dharma and the character of Lord Rama during the event.
Ranbir Kapoor Explains the Meaning of Dharma
Speaking about Ramayana and Lord Rama, Ranbir said, “Ramayana and Shri Ram are deeply etched in our subconscious mind. Lord Rama never tried to be a hero; he is called Maryada Purushottam, which means ideal man. He was born as a prince and could have had everything, but he sacrificed it all to fulfil his father’s promise and his duties. There is a term called Dharma, which means duties. He is the perfect man, and I hope through this film, you could have a brief introduction to our culture and history.”
During the event, Ranbir also lifted a Shiv Dhanush, offered prayers and later placed it back.
Media Boycott Event Amid Delay
The event was reportedly delayed by several hours, following which a number of media members decided to boycott it.
The Mumbai gathering brought together several members of the Ramayana cast and team as anticipation continues to build around the two-part film franchise.
