Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa has announced his separation from Rani Tiwari, the mother of Bigg Boss 20 contestant Rhiti Tiwari. Bawa shared the update through an Instagram video on September 30, 2026, stating that their official separation is scheduled to be finalised on October 30, 2026.

The announcement comes amid an ongoing public dispute involving Bawa, Rhiti Tiwari and her family, which gained attention after Rhiti entered the reality show.

Ekam Bawa Announces Separation From Rani Tiwari

In his September 30 video, Bawa said that his separation from Rani Tiwari would officially take place on October 30. He described the preceding two years as stressful and referred to the development as a personal victory.

Bawa also thanked social media, claiming that it had helped speed up the legal proceedings. He ended the video by singing “Arjan Vaily”.

Bawa, 34, was reportedly in a relationship with Rani Tiwari, the former wife of Bhojpuri actor-politician Manoj Tiwari, for several years. According to the details shared in the report, the two were in a live-in relationship between 2020 and 2022 before getting married on February 18, 2022.

Bawa has also claimed that he lived with Rani and her daughter Rhiti in the same flat from 2020 to 2025. Rani, who works as a dietician, has not publicly responded to Bawa’s announcement or his earlier allegations.

Dispute Escalates After Rhiti Tiwari’s ‘Bigg Boss 20’ Entry

The controversy intensified following Rhiti Tiwari’s entry into Bigg Boss 20 on September 6, 2026. Rhiti, 25, who is the daughter of Manoj Tiwari and Rani Tiwari, spoke about financial difficulties during her time on the show.

She said she received a monthly allowance of INR 20,000–25,000 from her father and described how she managed her expenses, including eating two INR 10 vada pavs a day and limiting her diesel spending to INR 500.

Following these comments, Bawa shared a series of videos in which he questioned Rhiti’s account of her financial situation. He alleged that she owned handbags worth INR 4–5 lakh, several luxury vehicles, including Range Rovers, and flats in Mumbai. He also claimed that fuel expenses for the vehicles alone amounted to INR 2.5–3 lakh and referred to her involvement with a sports company with significant turnover.

Bawa also expressed his distress over the situation, saying that he hoped nobody would experience what he claimed to have gone through.

The dispute took another turn on September 28, when Rhiti Tiwari’s team issued a statement through her official Instagram account. The team rejected Bawa’s allegations as “false and defamatory” and said that legal action had been initiated against him over accusations that Rhiti and her mother had allegedly “tortured” him.

The statement also pointed out that Rhiti was unable to respond personally while inside the Bigg Boss 20 house. Her team urged media outlets to verify the facts before publishing or amplifying the allegations.

With Bawa now announcing his upcoming separation from Rani Tiwari, the ongoing dispute continues to attract attention alongside Rhiti’s stint on Bigg Boss 20.
