Fans waiting to watch Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in Udta Teer will have to wait a little longer. The upcoming spy comedy, which was earlier scheduled to release on September 11, 2026, before being pushed to October 9, has now been postponed again.
The makers announced on October 2, 2026, that the film will now arrive in cinemas worldwide on October 23, 2026.
Why ‘Udta Teer’ Release Date Has Been Changed
The latest postponement has been described by the producers as a strategic decision. According to their press release, the team wants to give the film a “cleaner release window and a stronger theatrical runway” rather than compromise on screens in an increasingly crowded market.
The move is aimed at giving Udta Teer a better theatrical window and avoiding potential competition that could affect its screen availability and box office performance.
The film’s trailer, released on September 23, 2026, has already created buzz among audiences.
Ayushmann Khurrana Plays A Pakistani Spy
Directed by debutant Aakash A Kaushik, Udta Teer combines spy elements, comedy and patriotism. Ayushmann Khurrana plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory following an accident and begins believing that he is an Indian counter-terrorism soldier.
His character forgets his actual nationality but continues to retain his sense of patriotism, eventually finding himself supporting India. The unusual premise forms the basis of the film’s comedy and spy-driven storyline.
Speaking to ANI, Ayushmann described the project as a unique and original story that takes him back to the kind of content he has traditionally explored. He also described the film as a pro-India patriotic comedy and a genre-defying entertainer designed for family audiences.

‘Udta Teer’ Cast And Crew
The film features an ensemble cast including Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Raghubir Yadav, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Smita Tambe, late Mukul Dev, Brijendra Kala and Sandeep Anand.
Udta Teer is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment have backed the project.
The music has been composed by Sachin Jigar, while Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Upcoming Films
Apart from Udta Teer, Ayushmann Khurrana has two more projects lined up. Yeh Prem Mol Liya is scheduled to release on November 27, 2026, followed by Mupapa, which is slated to arrive on February 19, 2027.
With its new October 23 release date, Udta Teer will now be the next major theatrical release in Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming lineup.
