Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan, 83, suffered a knee injury after accidentally slipping and falling during the shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. The actor revealed the incident during the episode aired on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, while explaining why he delivered his usual opening monologue while seated.

During the September 30 episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, viewers noticed that Amitabh Bachchan did not begin the show with his usual standing introduction. Instead, the actor took his seat shortly after entering the stage and spoke about the reason behind the change.

Addressing the audience, Bachchan explained that he had injured his knee after slipping and falling during the previous day’s shoot. He said that he normally delivers his monologue while standing at the centre of the stage, but the injury had made it slightly difficult for him to stand.

The revelation left the studio audience concerned, with several people reacting with surprise. Bachchan, however, reassured them that the injury to his left knee was not serious. He further clarified that although standing during the opening monologue was somewhat difficult, he would still stand while interacting with the contestants during the episode.

The audience responded by wishing the veteran actor a speedy recovery.

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 18’ Premiered in August

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, carrying the theme ‘Sochna Padega’ (You’ll Have to Think), premiered on August 10, 2026. Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, the popular quiz show continues its long-running association with the actor.

The show airs from Monday to Friday at 9:00 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and is also available to stream on Sony LIV.

Despite his knee injury, Bachchan continued with the shoot and fulfilled his hosting responsibilities, maintaining his regular association with the programme.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Upcoming Projects

Apart from Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, Amitabh Bachchan has several projects lined up. The actor, who was born on October 11, 1942, is set to return as Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD Part 2.

Regular filming for the highly anticipated sequel is confirmed to resume in mid-October 2026. Meanwhile, fans of the veteran actor continue to wish him a quick recovery following his recent knee injury.
