Manish Malhotra’s much-awaited Mijwan Fashion Show returned to Mumbai on Saturday night for its 15th edition, bringing together Indian fashion, traditional craftsmanship and contemporary glamour. The 2026 showcase featured Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal as showstoppers, adding to the excitement around the duo, who will share the screen in Love & War.
The event was also a celebration of chikankari embroidery created by women artisans associated with the Mijwan Welfare Society. Through the collection, Manish Malhotra highlighted the intricate handwork while presenting it through his signature fashion aesthetic.
Alia Bhatt’s Ivory Chikankari Saree
Alia Bhatt stole the spotlight in a custom ivory chikankari saree designed by Manish Malhotra. The ensemble combined detailed chikankari embroidery with sequins, silver embellishments and scalloped borders, giving the traditional silhouette a contemporary finish.
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia paired the saree with a fitted bandeau-style blouse. The blouse featured appliqué detailing, spaghetti straps, a square neckline and a cropped silhouette. She completed the look with a sheer veil decorated with chikankari embroidery and sequins.
For her accessories, Alia chose a heavy diamond choker, matching earrings, a maang tikka and statement rings. Her hair was neatly pulled back into a sleek bun, keeping the focus on the intricate detailing of her outfit.
Vicky Kaushal Makes a Regal Statement
Vicky Kaushal complemented Alia’s ivory ensemble in a midnight-blue and ivory sherwani from Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan collection. His outfit featured a midnight-blue bandhgala jacket worn with a white kurta and matching flared trousers.
The sherwani was designed with a collared neckline, padded shoulders, full-length sleeves, side slits and a single-button closure. Vicky accessorised the traditional look with a diamond-encrusted chain and statement rings, while white juttis completed his ensemble.
His coordinated appearance with Alia added another highlight to the evening, particularly with the two actors set to appear together in Love & War.
Soni Razdan and Neetu Kapoor Attend the Fashion Showcase
The Mijwan Fashion Show also saw several well-known personalities in attendance, including Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan, and her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor.
Soni Razdan opted for a shimmering lavender-pink sharara set featuring intricate embroidery and sparkling embellishments. Neetu Kapoor, meanwhile, wore a bright fuchsia kurta set detailed with gold embroidery around the neckline and chest, along with gold borders on the cuffs and hemline.
Both added to the evening’s traditional yet glamorous fashion mood.
Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s On-Screen Reunion
The appearance of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal together at the Mijwan Fashion Show generated additional interest as the actors are set to star opposite each other in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
The film is scheduled to release in January 2027, making their Mijwan appearance another much-discussed moment ahead of their upcoming on-screen collaboration.
