Bajaj has expanded its Pulsar N250 lineup with the introduction of the new Pulsar N250SS, priced at ₹1.59 lakh. The updated motorcycle brings several mechanical and technology upgrades over the standard N250, following a similar strategy to the Pulsar N160SS launched earlier this year.
The new variant features a revised engine, an additional gear, upgraded electronics and several convenience features. It costs ₹14,000 more than the regular Pulsar N250, positioning it as a more feature-rich option within the range.
Bajaj Pulsar N250SS Engine and Performance
The Pulsar N250SS uses an updated 249cc, single-cylinder engine with air and oil cooling. It features a new four-valve cylinder head and produces 25hp of power and 22Nm of torque.
These figures represent a modest improvement over the standard Pulsar N250, which delivers 24.5hp and 21.5Nm of torque.
Another major change is the introduction of a six-speed gearbox, replacing the five-speed transmission available on the regular model. Bajaj has also included a quickshifter as standard equipment, allowing riders to shift up through the gears without operating the clutch.
The motorcycle also features an electronic throttle body, which enables multiple riding modes. Together, these updates are designed to offer improved performance and a more versatile riding experience.
Pulsar N250SS Features and Technology
One of the most noticeable additions is a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, replacing the LCD unit found on the standard N250. The display supports Google Maps mirroring, allowing riders to view navigation information on the instrument screen.
Bajaj has added several other features to improve convenience and safety. These include adjustable brake and clutch levers, a USB Type-C charging port, a hazard light switch and a panic brake alert system.
The upgraded equipment brings the N250SS closer to the feature set of the Pulsar N160SS while giving the larger motorcycle a more premium position in Bajaj’s lineup.
Bajaj Pulsar N250SS Price and Rivals
The Bajaj Pulsar N250SS is priced at ₹1.59 lakh, carrying a ₹14,000 premium over the standard Pulsar N250.
Despite the increase, the motorcycle remains below the prices of some competing 250cc models mentioned in the market. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is priced at ₹1.85 lakh, while the recently launched Hero Xtreme 250R Carbon costs ₹1.98 lakh.
With its updated engine, six-speed gearbox, standard quickshifter and TFT instrument display, the Pulsar N250SS offers additional performance and technology for buyers willing to spend a little more than the regular N250.
