Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 on October 8, 2026, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. His sudden death has left the film industry and generations of his fans mourning the loss of one of Indian cinema’s most distinctive performers.
According to sources, Patekar’s son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the actor’s death. Malhar was in Pune at the time and left for Goa following the news.
Nana Patekar’s Cause of Death
Nana Patekar was reportedly found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula. He was subsequently taken to Manipal Hospital, where doctors attempted to revive him for around 45 minutes.
Despite the medical efforts, the actor could not be revived and was declared dead at approximately 5:20 am. According to the information provided by sources, cardiac arrest was the cause of his death.

Born Vishwanath Patekar, Nana Patekar built a career spanning several decades in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. He was known for bringing a distinct intensity and authenticity to his performances, whether portraying serious characters, troubled protagonists or comic roles.
