Northern Railway Announces Special Trains for Vaishno Devi Pilgrims

New Delhi: Northern Railway will run two trips of reserved festival special trains between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic during the festive season.

The additional services will provide more travel options for devotees heading to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

New Delhi-Katra Special Train Schedule

Train No. 04083, operating from New Delhi to Katra, will leave New Delhi at 2 pm on October 9 and October 16. It will reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 3 am the following day.

On the return journey, Train No. 04084 will depart from Katra at 10 am on October 10 and October 17. The train is scheduled to reach New Delhi at 11:30 pm on the same day.

The 655-km service will consist of 22 LHB coaches.

Stations Covered on the Route

The special train will stop at Sonipat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Dhandari Kalan, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Kathua, Jammu Tawi and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan stations.

Northern Railway also said another special train service, Train Nos. 04081/04082, is already operating and will continue until October 26.

Passengers Advised to Book Tickets in Advance

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal, said the additional services have been introduced in view of the growing number of devotees travelling to Mata Vaishno Devi during the festive season.

Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and book their tickets early to avoid inconvenience during the period of increased demand.
