BSNL has introduced an additional benefit for customers opting for select prepaid recharge plans. The state-owned telecom operator is offering personal accident insurance worth up to Rs 1 lakh, along with cyber fraud insurance coverage of up to Rs 10,000, with two of its Special Tariff Voucher (STV) plans.
The insurance benefit is available with the Rs 202 and Rs 2,449 prepaid plans. Along with the coverage, both recharges provide their respective calling, data and SMS benefits.
BSNL Rs 1 Lakh Insurance Offer Explained
BSNL announced the additional insurance benefit through its official X account. Customers who recharge with either the Rs 202 or Rs 2,449 STV can get personal accident coverage of up to Rs 1 lakh and cyber fraud protection of up to Rs 10,000.
The personal accident cover includes incidents such as road accidents, burns, snakebites, lightning strikes and electric shocks. The cyber insurance benefit is intended to provide coverage in cases where users suffer financial losses due to cyber fraud.
The insurance benefits are available in addition to the regular telecom services included with the respective recharge plans.
BSNL Rs 202 Recharge Plan
The Rs 202 prepaid plan comes with a validity of 32 days. Under this recharge, customers receive 300 minutes of voice calling, 5GB of high-speed data and 100 SMS.
The plan also includes free national roaming, allowing subscribers to use their BSNL connection across India without additional roaming charges. Customers choosing this plan are also eligible for the personal accident and cyber fraud insurance benefits.
BSNL Rs 2,449 Annual Recharge Plan
For customers looking for a longer validity, BSNL offers the Rs 2,449 prepaid plan with a validity of 365 days.
The annual recharge provides unlimited nationwide voice calling, free national roaming, 2GB of high-speed data per day and 100 SMS every day. It also comes with the same insurance benefits, including personal accident coverage of up to Rs 1 lakh and cyber fraud protection of up to Rs 10,000.
BSNL Rs 51 Plan Returns With 28-Day Validity
BSNL has also brought back its Rs 51 recharge plan with a validity of 28 days. The plan offers unlimited calling across India to any telecom network, free national roaming, 100 SMS per day and 2GB of high-speed data every day.
However, the Rs 51 recharge does not include the personal accident insurance or cyber fraud insurance benefits offered with the Rs 202 and Rs 2,449 plans.
