Jeevan Pramaan 2026: Pensioners aged 80 years and above can begin submitting their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) from October 1, 2026. This early window gives very senior pensioners additional time to complete their annual life verification before the regular submission period begins.
However, the October 1 facility is specifically for pensioners aged 80 and above. Pensioners below 80 years must follow the regular submission schedule in November.
October 1 Window for Pensioners Above 80
Under the Jeevan Pramaan facility, pensioners aged 80 years or more can submit their Digital Life Certificate from October 1 to November 30, unless the government announces an extension.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) recently advised eligible senior pensioners to complete the process early rather than waiting for the November rush.
The early window can be particularly useful for very senior citizens who may find it difficult to visit a bank branch or pension office during the busier period.
Other Pensioners Must Follow November Schedule
Pensioners below the age of 80 should not treat October 1 as the general starting date for submitting their Digital Life Certificate.
For these pensioners, the regular annual submission period in November applies. Therefore, pensioners should first check their age eligibility and applicable submission period before generating their DLC.
Jeevan Pramaan also allows pensioners to complete the verification process without necessarily visiting their pension disbursing authority personally.
Four Ways to Submit Jeevan Pramaan
Pensioners have multiple options for completing the life certificate process.
Face authentication: The process can be completed using a compatible Android smartphone with an internet connection and a suitable front camera.
Biometric authentication: Pensioners can use a fingerprint or iris-based biometric device for authentication.
Doorstep banking: Where the service is available, pensioners who have difficulty travelling can request doorstep banking assistance and complete the process from home.
Physical submission: Pensioners can also continue to submit their life certificate physically at a bank branch or other applicable pension disbursing agency.
Documents and Details Required
Before starting the Jeevan Pramaan process, pensioners should keep their Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID), Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, pension disbursing agency details and active mobile number ready.
The Aadhaar details should be properly linked with the pension account or relevant pension disbursing authority as required for authentication.
For face authentication, pensioners need to download the AadhaarFaceRD application and the Jeevan Pramaan Face App on a compatible Android smartphone. The process includes authentication, entering the required pension details and capturing the pensioner’s face using the phone camera.
After successful generation of the Digital Life Certificate, an SMS containing a link to access the Jeevan Pramaan certificate is sent to the registered mobile number.
Is Digital Life Certificate Compulsory?
Jeevan Pramaan is an additional facility and does not replace the existing methods of submitting a life certificate. Pensioners can continue using the applicable physical submission method if they prefer.
For 2026, the important point is that October 1 is the early submission date for pensioners aged 80 years and above. Other pensioners should follow the regular November window applicable to them.
