Abhishek Pathak’s Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, arrived in theatres on October 2, 2026. The film brings the long-running murder mystery surrounding Vijay Salgaonkar to its conclusion while introducing new faces and another layer to the investigation.
The Hindi adaptation has followed a slightly different path from the original Malayalam Drishyam franchise led by Mohanlal. This latest instalment features Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant, along with newcomers to the franchise Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj.
Performances In ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’
Ajay Devgn remains firmly in character as Vijay Salgaonkar. His portrayal of the calculated family man continues to form the centre of the franchise.
Shriya Saran makes an impact, particularly during the courtroom sequence, while Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav effectively portray Vijay and Nandini’s daughters. Tabu brings the required restraint to Meera Deshmukh, balancing her role as a determined officer and a grieving mother.
Jaideep Ahlawat makes a strong impression as SP Rajveer Singh Tomar. His character has a distinct presence, both through his dialogue and the way he is presented on screen. One notable sequence shows Tomar approaching Vijay while being filmed through the front glass of his Mahindra Thar. The framing and cinematography by Sudhir K Chaudhary make the moment particularly striking.
However, Kamlesh Sawant’s Inspector Gaitonde once again emerges as one of the film’s highlights. His natural performance and comic punches add another dimension to the investigation. Some of the film’s memorable lines are given to Gaitonde, making his continued presence particularly enjoyable.
The supporting cast also fits naturally into the story and contributes to the film’s overall realistic tone.
What Doesn’t Work In The Film?
The film’s pacing could have been quicker, particularly considering its murder-thriller format. While the runtime is not particularly long by Bollywood standards, certain portions could have moved at a faster pace.
The conclusion may also feel somewhat predictable for viewers who have closely followed the franchise. Those expecting a major surprise or a dramatic final twist may find the ending less unexpected.
Another aspect that could have received more attention is Meera Deshmukh’s storyline. A clearer sense of closure regarding her son Sameer and his actions, including his alleged attempt to harm Anju, could have added another layer to her character’s journey.
Verdict
Drishyam: The Conclusion brings Vijay Salgaonkar’s story to a fitting close with an engaging murder investigation, familiar characters and several twists. Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat and Kamlesh Sawant deliver notable performances, with Gaitonde providing some of the film’s most entertaining moments.
Despite its predictable stretches and slightly slow pacing, the film offers an intriguing conclusion for viewers invested in the Drishyam franchise.
