Ration card holders in Chhattisgarh who could not collect their September foodgrain allocation have been given additional time. The collection deadline has been extended until October 15, 2026, after heavy rainfall and other unforeseen circumstances affected distribution during the original deadline.

The state has around 7.1 million ration card holders. According to the Food Department, around 90% of the September rice allocation had been distributed by September 29, 2026. Fair price shops are continuing distribution for beneficiaries who have yet to collect their quota.

The Chhattisgarh Food Department’s official system also tracks monthly allocation and distribution through the state’s Public Distribution System.

October Ration Distribution to Continue Till October 31

Foodgrain allocations for September and October 2026 under the Public Distribution System have been finalised and distributed to fair price shops.

Beneficiaries who have not collected their September ration can now do so until October 15, 2026. Meanwhile, the distribution of October’s rice allocation will continue until October 31, 2026.

The state Food Department maintains district-wise and fair-price-shop-wise information on ration cards, allocations, stocks and distribution under the PDS.

District-Level Monitoring of Ration Distribution

Officials are monitoring the distribution process across districts to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive their foodgrain allocation. The department’s online PDS system provides information on ration card beneficiaries, fair price shops, foodgrain allocation and available stock.

The department has also stated that ensuring transparent foodgrain distribution to eligible families remains a priority.

Ration Card Holders Should Collect September Quota on Time

Beneficiaries who have not yet collected their September foodgrain are advised to visit their respective fair price shop and collect the allocation before the revised October 15 deadline.

Those who need information or assistance regarding the Food Department can also use the department’s official grievance channels. The Chhattisgarh Food Department lists 1800-233-3663 and 1967 as toll-free numbers for food-related complaints.
