Hyundai India has officially opened bookings for its upcoming Bayon SUV, following a series of teaser releases that have generated considerable interest around the model. Despite the growing anticipation, the company has not yet released a complete image of the SUV.
Customers can book the Bayon for Rs 11,000 either through Hyundai’s online booking platform or at an authorised dealership.
The automaker has, however, revealed several key details about the upcoming SUV, offering a clearer picture of where the Bayon will sit within Hyundai’s existing lineup.
2027 Hyundai Bayon: Dimensions and Design
One of the key details confirmed by Hyundai is the SUV’s length. The Bayon measures 4.2 metres, placing it above the Hyundai Venue in terms of overall length while keeping it shorter than the Hyundai Creta, which measures more than 4.3 metres.
Based purely on its dimensions, the Bayon will be positioned closer to models such as the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
The teaser images released so far show several distinctive styling elements, including H-shaped lighting elements, an upright profile and a stop lamp integrated into the roof spoiler.
2027 Hyundai Bayon: Engine and Gearbox Options
Hyundai has confirmed that the Bayon will be introduced as a petrol-powered SUV. Transmission options will include a manual gearbox along with a CVT automatic.
The SUV is expected to use the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine currently available with the Creta. This engine produces close to 115 bhp and 144 Nm of torque.
Hyundai has not yet confirmed whether the Bayon will eventually receive additional powertrain choices, such as turbo-petrol or CNG variants.

The upcoming Bayon will feature an in-built voice assistant powered by generative AI, according to Hyundai.
The company has also indicated that the SUV will offer a comprehensive range of safety equipment, describing the model as being engineered for “five-star Indian safety standards.”

Hyundai has currently confirmed that the Bayon will arrive “this festive season.” The SUV is expected to make its debut in October, with deliveries likely to begin before Diwali.
In terms of dimensions, the Bayon will be closer to the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun, although its positioning in Hyundai’s lineup will also depend on its pricing relative to the Venue and Creta.
The expected price range for the Hyundai Bayon is Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 14 lakh.
