Gold Rates in Major Indian Cities
Retail gold is primarily sold in 24-carat and 22-carat purity. While 24-carat gold represents the highest purity, 22-carat gold is commonly used for jewellery because its alloy content makes it stronger and more suitable for ornaments.
Gold prices can be influenced by international bullion rates, movements in the US dollar exchange rate and domestic demand for jewellery. Festive-season demand can also affect prices in the Indian market.
