Gold and silver prices started the new trading week on a weaker note. After a two-day market break, both precious metals opened lower on Monday, September 21. MCX gold prices declined during early trading, while silver also recorded a fall.
In the morning session, 24-carat gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) were trading at around ₹153,750 per 10 grams, down 0.41% or ₹631 from the previous close of ₹154,381 per 10 grams.

Gold and Silver Prices in the International Market
Precious metals also traded lower in the international market on Monday, which was the first trading day of the week.
According to Comex data, gold was down 0.53% at around 9:00 AM, with the price standing at $4,401.30 per ounce. Silver also declined during the session, falling 0.48% to trade at $66.825 per ounce.
On the MCX, gold for delivery on October 5, 2026, also remained under pressure. The contract fell 0.52% to ₹153,578 per 10 grams at around 10:40 AM. Compared with its previous closing price of ₹154,381, the metal was cheaper by ₹803 per 10 grams.
Silver futures also recorded a decline. Silver for delivery on December 4, 2026, fell 0.69% and was trading at ₹239,942 per kilogram, or around ₹2.40 lakh per kg.
