The Renault Triber is preparing for a significant update, with the upcoming 2026 model expected to bring changes to its engine, transmission and fuel options. The seven-seater could receive a turbo-petrol engine, a CVT automatic gearbox and a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG system.
While the existing Triber focuses on practicality and affordability, these expected additions could give the new model improved performance and greater flexibility. Renault is also expected to make some styling and equipment changes as part of the update.
Renault Triber 2026: Turbo-Petrol Engine Expected
The current Renault Triber uses a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces around 72 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. For the new model, Renault is expected to introduce the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine already used in the Kiger.
In its current configuration, this turbo engine develops approximately 99 bhp and 160 Nm of torque. If the same setup is introduced in the Triber, the seven-seater could gain around 27 bhp and 64 Nm of additional torque compared with the existing naturally aspirated version.
The increase in power and torque could make the Triber better suited to carrying passengers and luggage, although the final engine specifications will be confirmed by Renault.
Manual and CVT Automatic Options
The upcoming Triber is expected to be offered with both a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. The manual option is likely to cater to buyers who prefer conventional gear control, while the CVT could provide a more convenient driving experience, particularly in busy urban traffic.
However, Renault has not yet officially confirmed the exact transmission combinations or their availability across different variants.
Another major expected addition is a factory-fitted CNG option. At present, CNG conversions for the Triber are carried out through dealer-fitted kits. The upcoming model could instead receive a CNG system installed directly by the manufacturer.
The new setup is expected to use dual CNG cylinders positioned beneath the floor. This could help the vehicle retain its practical seven-seat layout while offering a factory-fitted alternative fuel option.
Expected Platform and Design Changes
The updated Triber is also expected to move to Renault’s RGEP, or Renault Group Entry Platform. If introduced, the new platform could bring changes to the vehicle’s overall packaging in addition to the expected engine and CNG updates.
However, Renault has not yet revealed complete technical information about the platform or confirmed the final specifications.
On the exterior, the overall design is not expected to undergo a major transformation. The refreshed model could nevertheless receive revised bumpers, updated lighting elements, new wheels and other styling changes.
The cabin is also expected to receive additional features and equipment, although Renault has not yet disclosed the complete interior specifications.
Renault Triber 2026 Expected Price and Launch
The current Renault Triber is priced between ₹6.55 lakh and ₹9.91 lakh. With the expected addition of a turbo-petrol engine and factory-fitted CNG technology, the updated model could be priced higher than the existing version.
The Renault Triber 2026 is expected to launch by the end of September 2026. The exact launch date, variant-wise specifications and final pricing will be announced by Renault.
