Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates at the 20th Rozgar Mela on September 19, 2026. The programme will be conducted through video conferencing at 12:30 PM, with the Prime Minister also addressing the newly selected candidates.
The latest Rozgar Mela will take place simultaneously at 45 locations across the country. Candidates selected through the recruitment process will join different ministries and departments of the Government of India.
Which Government Departments Will Recruit Candidates?
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the newly appointed candidates will join organisations and departments including the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Defence.
The Rozgar Mela brings together newly recruited employees and government departments at locations across the country, while the Prime Minister addresses the participants virtually.
Around 12.75 Lakh Appointment Letters Through 20 Rozgar Melas
With the 20th edition of the Rozgar Mela, the total number of appointment letters distributed through the programme will reach approximately 12.75 lakh, according to the official statement.
The government has been organising Rozgar Melas across different parts of the country as part of its recruitment initiative for various central government departments and organisations.
The previous, 19th Rozgar Mela was held on May 23, 2026. More than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates at 47 locations, with the Prime Minister addressing the event virtually.
What Happened at the May Rozgar Mela?
At the 19th Rozgar Mela in May, newly selected candidates joined several government departments and organisations. Official information said the recruits were appointed across departments including Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services and the Department of Higher Education.
The May event was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across India, where more than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed.
