The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme continues to provide financial support to eligible farmers across the country. However, many farmers are still not registered under the scheme.

Farmers who meet the eligibility conditions can complete their registration now and, after the required verification, become eligible to receive benefits from the next installment. So far, 23 installments have been released, while farmers are waiting for the 24th installment, which is likely to be released in October.

PM Kisan Registration Is Now More Digital

The registration process for PM-KISAN has become more digital, with farmers required to have a Farmer ID and complete e-KYC as part of the process.

Eligible farmers can register either online through the official PM-KISAN portal or by visiting a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) or Vasudha Kendra. Registration through CSC facilities can be completed using biometric authentication.

Who Is Eligible for PM Kisan?

Farmers whose cultivable land is recorded in their name in government records can qualify for the scheme, subject to the applicable conditions. Under PM-KISAN, a farmer family consists of the husband, wife and minor children.

Certain categories are excluded from receiving the benefit. These include institutional landholders, individuals holding constitutional posts, government employees, income taxpayers and people receiving a monthly pension of more than ₹10,000.

Documents Required for PM Kisan Registration

Farmers should keep the necessary documents and details ready before starting the application. These include an Aadhaar card linked with a mobile number, land-related records such as Khasra, Khatauni or land receipts, and a bank passbook with Aadhaar linkage and DBT enabled.

A Farmer ID is also becoming mandatory in many states as part of the registration process.

How to Apply for PM Kisan From Home

Farmers can complete the registration process using a mobile phone or computer by visiting pmkisan.gov.in. On the homepage, they need to select the New Farmer Registration option and provide details such as their state, district, block and village.

Applicants must then enter their land information, including the survey or Khasra number, upload the required land documents and submit the application.

Farmers can also use the PM-KISAN mobile app to complete registration and e-KYC through face authentication.

After an application is submitted, the state government carries out physical verification of the documents. Once the verification is completed and the farmer’s name is included in the beneficiary list, the benefits are provided from the applicable next installment. Therefore, farmers who complete the process now and receive approval could become eligible for the 24th installment.
