The trailer opens with strange supernatural incidents unfolding in a small village, immediately creating an unsettling atmosphere. The story then shifts to Sidharth Malhotra’s character, who dismisses the mysterious happenings as “utter rubbish.”
His character appears to be leading a contented life with his partner, played by Tamannaah Bhatia. However, Tamannaah’s character believes that the goddess has summoned them back to their village for Chhath.
Their return soon brings them face-to-face with the village’s beliefs and traditions. Discussions surrounding trees and development begin to create tension, while Sidharth’s character also finds himself in conflict with his brother over the village’s strict rule against entering the forest after sunset.
The mystery deepens when the protagonist begins experiencing flashes from what appears to be a previous life, revealing him as a warrior. This element adds another layer to the story and raises questions about his connection with the village and its supernatural events.
The central premise of The Vvaan appears intriguing, although its themes of nature, folklore and supernatural elements may remind viewers of films such as Kantara, Sing Geetam and Stree. The trailer features some promising visual effects, though they appear less consistent in certain sequences.
The Vvaan Cast and Crew
Alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film features Shweta Tiwari, Anup Soni, Sunil Grover and Maniesh Paul in important roles.
The Vvaan is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production.
Deepak Mishra has directed the film, while Manu Anand serves as the director of photography and Visual Director. The movie has been produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.
Speaking at the Prime Video event, Tamannaah Bhatia also opened up about working with Sidharth Malhotra and praised his acting. She said collaborating with him had been a long-standing dream and described him as “a really fine actor.”
She further said that it had been a long time since she came across a script that reminded her of the stories she grew up loving while also having a strong emotional core.
The Vvaan Release Date
The Vvaan is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 25, 2026.
