MP Free Scooty Scheme 2026: The Madhya Pradesh government is set to provide scooter assistance to more than 7,500 meritorious students under the Chief Minister Scooty Scheme. The initiative is aimed at students from government higher secondary schools who have performed exceptionally well in their Class 12 examinations.

The state-level distribution programme, which was earlier scheduled for September 16, has now been shifted to September 19, 2026.

What Are the Eligibility Conditions?

The scheme is not available to every Class 12 student. Under the updated eligibility rules, students must have passed Class 12 in their first attempt, secured at least 70% marks, and stood first in their respective government higher secondary school.

The scheme covers eligible boys and girls studying in government higher secondary schools. The Madhya Pradesh government approved continuation of the scheme for the 2026-27 to 2030-31 financial years, with the eligibility criteria including the 70% minimum marks requirement.

How Are Students Selected?

Students do not need to submit a separate application for the scheme. The selection is linked to their performance in the Class 12 examination and their position in their school.

The official Madhya Pradesh scheme information states that the principal is responsible for the application and selection process. Eligible students who top their government higher secondary school are considered under the scheme.

How Much Money Is Given for the Scooter?

Instead of directly handing over a scooter in every case, the scheme provides financial assistance for purchasing the vehicle. The amount depends on the type of scooter selected.

Eligible students can receive up to ₹90,000 for a motorised/petrol scooter and up to ₹1.20 lakh for an e-scooter. Recent reports on the 2026 distribution also confirm these assistance amounts.

The assistance is transferred through the government’s payment process so that selected students can purchase the eligible vehicle.

When Will Students Receive the Benefit?

More than 7,500 students are expected to benefit in the current round. The state-level programme is scheduled to take place in Bhopal on September 19, 2026, with the government distributing the scooter assistance to eligible meritorious students.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s scheme is intended to recognise strong academic performance while providing selected students with support for their daily travel and further education.
