Special Trains: Indian Railways has announced the extension and operation of several special trains to make travel easier for passengers during the upcoming festive and peak travel season. The services include trains connecting Ajmer, Ranchi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Santaragachhi and other major cities.
The move is expected to provide additional travel options as passenger demand increases around festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath.
Ajmer-Ranchi and Other Special Train Services
According to the railway schedule, Train No. 09619 Ajmer-Ranchi Special will operate every Friday from October 2 to November 27. Its counterpart, Train No. 09620 Ranchi-Ajmer Special, will run every Sunday from October 4 to November 29.
Meanwhile, Train No. 02877 Ranchi-Anand Vihar Terminal Special will operate on Saturdays from October 3 to November 28. The return service, Train No. 02878 Anand Vihar Terminal-Ranchi Special, will run every Sunday from October 4 to November 29.
The Railways will also operate Train No. 08611 Santaragachhi-Ajmer Special on Mondays from October 4 to November 29, followed by services from December 7 to 14 and December 21 to 28.
Similarly, Train No. 08612 Ajmer-Santragachi Special will run on Thursdays from October 15 to November 26, December 3 to 10, and December 17 to 31.
Railway officials said these additional services will offer more travel options for passengers moving between major cities during the busy season.
Kolkata-Kanpur and Agra Special Trains
With passenger numbers expected to rise during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath, Eastern Railway has also announced three special Puja trains from Kolkata to Kanpur Central, Agra Cantt and Jhansi. The Asansol Railway Division will operate these services to provide additional connectivity during the festive period.
Train No. 04157/04158 Kanpur Central-Kolkata Special will make eight trips every Tuesday from October 6 to November 24. It will leave Kanpur Central at 8:00 am and reach Kolkata at 4:05 am the following day.
For the return journey, Train No. 04158 Kolkata-Kanpur Central Special will depart Kolkata at 7:25 am every Wednesday from October 7 to November 25 and arrive at Kanpur Central at 1:25 am the next day.
The train will stop at Durgapur and Asansol stations in the Asansol division in both directions. Coaches will include general second class, sleeper class and air-conditioned accommodation.
The Train No. 01911/01912 Agra Cantt-Kolkata Special will make nine trips every Thursday from October 1 to November 26. It will depart Agra Cantt at 3:40 am and reach Kolkata at 4:05 am the following day.
The return service, Train No. 01912 Kolkata-Agra Cantt Special, will leave Kolkata at 7:25 am every Friday from October 2 to November 27 and reach Agra Cantt at 8:00 am the next day. It will also halt at Durgapur and Asansol.
This service will have general second class, sleeper class and air-conditioned coaches.
Jhansi-Asansol Special Train Schedule
Another important service is Train No. 04185/04186 Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi-Asansol Special. The train will make 16 trips every Wednesday and Sunday from October 7 to November 29.
The Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi-Asansol Special will depart Jhansi at 9:20 am and reach Asansol at 2:45 pm the following day.
For the return journey, Train No. 04186 Asansol-Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi Special will operate every Thursday and Monday from October 8 to 30. It will leave Asansol at 5:10 pm and arrive at Jhansi at 7:10 pm the following day.
In both directions, the train will stop at Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih stations within the Asansol division.
Passengers travelling on this service will have access to general second class, second class chair car, sleeper class and air-conditioned coaches.
