LPG e-KYC Deadline: There is some relief for domestic LPG consumers as the deadline for completing LPG e-KYC has been extended to September 14. The extension has been announced under government directions, giving consumers additional time to complete the mandatory verification process.

This is the fourth extension of the deadline. Initially, LPG consumers were asked to complete their e-KYC by August 15. The deadline was later moved to August 23, then August 31, and subsequently September 7. Now, consumers have been given time until September 14.

LPG e-KYC Deadline Extended Again

A large number of domestic LPG consumers are yet to complete their e-KYC. In the district, around 1.75 lakh consumers reportedly still need to finish the verification process.

Consumers are being encouraged to complete their e-KYC within the extended deadline to avoid potential issues with their LPG connection or cylinder supply. Since e-KYC has been made mandatory for domestic LPG consumers, completing the process on time is important.

Millions of Consumers Use Domestic LPG Connections

Domestic LPG services in the district are being provided by the major oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

Officials and gas agencies are working to inform consumers about the importance of completing e-KYC. The objective is to ensure that all eligible domestic LPG consumers complete their verification.

Gas agency operators have also been instructed to encourage their customers to complete the process as soon as possible.

How Can You Complete LPG e-KYC?

One of the biggest advantages for consumers is that LPG e-KYC can be completed online from home through the relevant app or digital service.

If you are unable to complete the process yourself or face technical difficulties, you can visit your LPG gas agency and ask for assistance with the verification.

Consumers should avoid waiting until the last day and complete their e-KYC as early as possible.

LPG Cylinder Booking Rules Have Also Changed

Apart from e-KYC, domestic LPG consumers should also keep themselves informed about the latest cylinder booking rules.

Under the updated rules mentioned for domestic LPG refills, the gap between booking one cylinder and becoming eligible to book the next refill has reportedly been reduced from 45 days to 25 days. The change applies to domestic consumers in both urban and rural areas.

This shorter interval can make it easier for households to plan their next LPG refill before the existing cylinder runs out.

Other LPG Rules Consumers Should Know

The changes concerning LPG are not limited to e-KYC and refill booking. Consumers should also remain aware of rules related to:

  • LPG subsidy eligibility
  • Cylinder booking
  • Delivery of LPG refills
  • Domestic LPG connections
  • e-KYC requirements
  • Refill booking intervals

Understanding these rules can help consumers avoid problems while booking or receiving their LPG cylinder.

Complete LPG e-KYC Before the Deadline

With the LPG e-KYC deadline now extended to September 14, consumers who have not yet completed the verification should take advantage of the additional time.

The process can be completed through the available online facility, while consumers who need assistance can approach their gas agency. Completing e-KYC on time can help ensure that the LPG connection remains compliant with the applicable requirements.
