Kareena Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan’s Previous Collaborations

Kareena Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan share a long history of working together in Bollywood. The actors first appeared together in Asoka and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001. The latter went on to become a cult favourite among audiences.

They later reunited for Ra.One, where their on-screen chemistry received appreciation despite the film not performing successfully at the box office. Kareena also made special appearances in the songs featured in Don and Billu, both of which became popular chartbusters.

Shah Rukh Khan’s King: Cast and Storyline

King is among the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2026, marking Shah Rukh Khan’s return to theatres after a three-year break. The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

During a special meet-and-greet session with fans on his 60th birthday, the actor also spoke about his character in the film. Discussing the distinction between heroes and villains, he said, “People often draw a line between a hero and a villain. But I’ve never believed in that distinction. I’ve played roles like Darr early in my career, a character who, by today’s standards, would be called a villain or a stalker. Then came Don, Anjaam, Baazigar; I was the bad guy in all of them.”

The storyline revolves around an experienced underworld don who takes on the role of a mentor and protector to a young woman trying to survive in a dangerous mafia environment.

Directed as a major cinematic project, King is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026, coinciding with Christmas Eve.
