Actress Sai Pallavi has become the centre of an online debate following her comments about Ravana at the world premiere of Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film ‘Ramayana: Part 1’. The actress, who plays Sita in the highly anticipated mythological drama, shared her thoughts on the deeper meaning of the epic during an interaction in Los Angeles. However, one particular statement about Ravana has drawn mixed reactions from social media users.
Her remark, “Ravana is not all bad,” quickly gained attention, with some people questioning her choice of words while others supported the context in which she made the statement.
Sai Pallavi’s Comments About Ravana Go Viral
The grand premiere of ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ was held on October 27, 2026, at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The event was attended by lead actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.
During a red-carpet conversation, Sai Pallavi discussed how the film could help introduce international audiences to Indian traditions, mythology and cultural values.
Explaining the moral lessons of the epic, she said that people should look within themselves, identify their positive and negative qualities, and work towards becoming better individuals.
“At the same time, as a scripture, I think, if you are a believer, and you would see, try to introspect, and see what good and bad exists in you, and you learn to correct yourself over time. Because Ravana is not all bad. And it’s important that we spot the Ravana in us, and we make changes over time,” the actress said.
Her comments, particularly the phrase “Ravana is not all bad”, soon circulated across social media platforms and became a topic of widespread discussion.
Internet Users Share Mixed Reactions to Sai Pallavi’s Statement
Sai Pallavi’s remarks have received contrasting responses from social media users. Several people criticised the actress, arguing that her statement could be interpreted differently, especially considering Ravana’s role in the Ramayana. Some users also questioned the relevance of praising a character associated with Sita’s abduction.
Others, however, came forward in her support, suggesting that her statement was being misunderstood. They argued that she was not defending Ravana but using the character as a symbol of the negative qualities that exist within every individual.
One social media user defended her perspective by writing, “People want controversy over everything. She clearly compares Ravana to our inner demon which everyone has and that we should conquer them.”
The differing opinions have kept the actress’s comments in the spotlight ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
