Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert in Delhi has received police permission after a review of security arrangements, putting an end to reports that the event had been cancelled. Organised by BookMyShow Live, the concert is scheduled for October 30 as part of the singer’s Aura India Tour.
BookMyShow Live clarified that permission for the event had initially been withheld temporarily and that the decision did not amount to a cancellation. The organiser said Delhi Police had requested additional precautions concerning security, traffic management and crowd control, considering the ongoing festive season.
BookMyShow Live Confirms Permission for Delhi Concert
According to the organiser, representatives held a cordial meeting with Delhi Police and presented a detailed plan addressing the authorities’ concerns. BookMyShow Live also assured the police that all necessary security and traffic requirements would be followed.
Following the discussions and review of the proposed arrangements, permission for the concert was reconsidered and granted.
“We, with Delhi Police, are committed to ensuring a good experience for attendees as well as local commuters,” the organiser said in its statement.
Why Was Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert Permission Withheld?
Earlier reports suggested that Delhi Police had refused permission for Dosanjh’s performance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium over security concerns.
An official letter dated October 21, issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South District, informed BookMyShow Live Private Limited that its request to organise the musical event could not be approved at that stage.
The letter cited specific threat-related inputs, along with the security and law-and-order responsibilities arising from the festive season and other important concerns.
It stated, “In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to.”
However, the communication did not disclose the precise nature of the threats or provide further details. BookMyShow Live subsequently clarified that the permission had been temporarily withheld and was later granted following a review of the arrangements.

Following the Delhi show, the tour is scheduled to travel to destinations including Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lucknow, among other cities.
With permission now granted for the Delhi event, the concert is set to proceed as planned on October 30, according to the organiser’s statement.
