The investigation into the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai has revealed that the accused allegedly surveyed the residences of several prominent Bollywood stars before the attack. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch investigation, the suspects had reportedly visited the homes of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar to assess their security arrangements.

The incident took place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, when gunmen allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, bringing renewed attention to security concerns surrounding prominent figures in the Hindi film industry.

Shooters Allegedly Conducted Recce of Bollywood Celebrities’ Homes

According to police sources, the accused arrived in Mumbai around a month before the shooting and allegedly began identifying potential targets in the film industry. Investigators believe they were looking for celebrities whose security arrangements appeared less stringent.

During their alleged reconnaissance, the suspects reportedly travelled in auto-rickshaws and posed as fans seeking photographs with celebrities. They are said to have visited the residences of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar in the Bandra and Juhu areas to observe security arrangements.

Initial police findings suggested that Tiger Shroff may not have been the attackers’ first intended target. The suspects allegedly considered attacking another prominent Bollywood actor but changed their plans after finding the security arrangements too difficult to breach.

They subsequently focused on Shroff, whom they allegedly perceived as a more accessible target. Police sources said the suspects visited his residence several times and monitored the football ground he regularly attended.

An auto-rickshaw driver reportedly provided information about Shroff’s Sunday routine, which allegedly helped the attackers identify an opportunity to carry out the shooting.

Seven People Arrested in Connection With the Case

As of October 21, 2026, Mumbai Police had arrested seven people in connection with the firing case.

Three key accused were arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, on October 20 while allegedly attempting to flee to Nepal. They were identified as Rehan, alias Sukka, from Sonipat in Haryana; Ritik Kurmi, alias Roshan, originally from Begusarai in Bihar and residing in Mumbai; and Phool Singh from Haryana. The three were subsequently brought to Mumbai for interrogation.

In a separate operation on October 20, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four more people in Delhi and Haryana. The accused, identified as Kunal, Sumit, Radha and Babita, are suspected of transporting the firearm to Mumbai and helping coordinate the operation.

Investigators are also examining the alleged role of Anil Pandit, who reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack in an audio message.

One of the alleged shooters, Ritik Kumar, reportedly took steps to avoid detection, including shaving his head and repeatedly changing his rented accommodation.

The investigation has brought renewed focus on the alleged activities of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its reported connections to threats against Bollywood celebrities. Investigators are examining the roles of the arrested suspects, the alleged movement of weapons and the coordination behind the attack.

The reported surveillance of multiple celebrity residences has also raised questions about how the accused selected their intended target and assessed security arrangements before the shooting.

Police investigations are continuing to establish the precise roles of those arrested and determine the extent of the alleged network involved in the case.
