Actress Neha Sharma has issued a strong warning against the unauthorised use of artificial intelligence to create photos and videos featuring her face. The actress took to her official X account on Saturday, asking those responsible for making or sharing such content to stop immediately.
In her post, the Crook actress made it clear that she had not given anyone permission to use her face or likeness to generate AI-created images or videos. She also demanded that any such material already circulating online be removed.
“Anyone using my face or likeness to create AI-generated videos or images without my consent is hereby warned to STOP IMMEDIATELY (sic),” Sharma wrote.
Neha Sharma Demands Removal of Unauthorised AI Content
Sharma further urged social media users to stop creating, editing or distributing AI-generated material that uses her identity without permission. She said such content could misrepresent her and damage her reputation.
“Take down all such content already posted and refrain from creating, editing, or circulating any further AI-generated videos or images using my identity. Using my face in this manner to misrepresent me or malign my reputation is completely unacceptable. I DO NOT CONSENT TO THE UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MY FACE OR LIKENESS,” she stated.
The actress also made it clear that she would not tolerate the unauthorised use of her image and likeness, reiterating her demand for the immediate removal of the content.
Actress Threatens Legal Action Against Those Responsible
Along with calling for the content to be taken down, Sharma warned that she would pursue legal action against anyone involved in creating, publishing or circulating such material.
“Consider this a formal warning: I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST EVERY INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING, POSTING, OR CIRCULATING SUCH CONTENT. No one should assume that hiding behind a fake account or the use of AI will protect them from accountability. TAKE IT DOWN NOW. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED,” she concluded.
Her statement comes amid growing concerns within the entertainment industry about the use of AI tools to manipulate images and videos of celebrities without their consent.
Celebrities Raise Concerns Over AI Misuse
Several prominent personalities from the film industry have voiced concerns about the unauthorised use of their identities through AI-generated content. Actors including Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta, Kartik Aaryan, Mrunal Thakur and Suniel Shetty have approached the courts seeking protection for their identity, image and personality rights.
More recently, a morphed video featuring actress Janhvi Kapoor in connection with the song Chuttamalle from Devara surfaced on social media, adding to concerns over digitally manipulated celebrity content.
Sharma’s warning highlights the continuing debate over consent, privacy and accountability as AI-generated images and videos become increasingly common online.
