The iQOO 16 could be heading to India soon, following its recent debut in China. Although the Vivo sub-brand has yet to announce an official launch date for the Indian market, a new social media post from iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya has hinted at the arrival of an upcoming flagship smartphone.
The iQOO 16 succeeds the iQOO 15 and brings flagship-level hardware, including a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, a powerful Snapdragon processor and a large battery. The company has not yet confirmed whether the device featured in the teaser is the iQOO 16, but the post has fuelled expectations of its potential India launch.
iQOO 16 India Launch: What We Know So Far
iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya recently shared a cryptic post on X, hinting at the arrival of a new flagship smartphone in the country. While the teaser does not disclose the device’s name or specifications, it is expected to refer to the iQOO 16.
The post asks users to “stay tuned” for the brand’s next flagship, suggesting that more information could be announced soon. However, iQOO has not officially confirmed the phone’s identity or its India launch timeline.
The smartphone was launched in China last month, with the base variant featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage priced at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 86,000).
iQOO 16 Specifications and Display
The Chinese variant of the iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The screen uses Samsung’s M16 luminescent technology.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.
For gaming and thermal management, the smartphone includes a dedicated Q4 gaming chip and an 8,500-square-mm vapour chamber cooling system. It also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
iQOO 16 Camera and Battery Details
For photography, the iQOO 16 comes with a triple rear camera system comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, the device features a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Chinese model packs an 8,400mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging.
While these specifications apply to the Chinese variant, details about the Indian version have not yet been confirmed. More information about the iQOO 16’s potential India launch, availability and pricing is expected once the company makes an official announcement.
