The rumoured smartphone is expected to bring several notable hardware features, including a display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz and a 9,000mAh battery. iQOO Neo 12 Launch Timeline and Expected Display Features
According to a Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, translated from Chinese and reported by Gizmochina, the iQOO Neo 12 could launch in China later this month.
The upcoming smartphone is tipped to feature a custom 2K+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. The panel is reportedly being supplied by Visionox, and the iQOO Neo 12 could become the first smartphone to use this new display technology.
The screen is said to incorporate Visionox’s fourth-generation pTSF luminescent material. The device is also expected to feature an active cooling fan designed to manage heat during demanding activities, including gaming, and help prevent overheating and performance throttling.
iQOO Neo 12 Could Launch Globally as iQOO 16R
The international launch plans for the rumoured smartphone remain another key detail. A recent report suggested that iQOO would not introduce new Neo series smartphones in India. However, the iQOO Neo 12 could reach select global markets outside China under the iQOO 16R name.
If the report proves accurate, the international version is expected to share its specifications and features with the Chinese model.
The smartphone has reportedly appeared on Geekbench with the model number V2618A. The listing provides an early indication of the hardware that could power the upcoming device.
iQOO Neo 12 Geekbench Listing and Expected Specifications
According to the reported Geekbench listing, the iQOO Neo 12 could be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, manufactured using a 3nm process. The device is also tipped to come with 16GB of RAM and run Android 17-based OriginOS 7. Graphics could be handled by the Adreno 840 GPU.
The smartphone reportedly scored 3,621 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 11,078 points in the multi-core test.
Alongside the rumoured high-refresh-rate display and large 9,000mAh battery, these specifications suggest that the iQOO Neo 12 could focus on performance-intensive tasks. However, the company has yet to officially confirm the reported features, launch timeline or global availability.
Further details about the iQOO Neo 12 and its potential international counterpart, the iQOO 16R, are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
