What Is Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ About?
Eetha is a Hindi-language biographical drama based on the life of renowned Tamasha and Lavani artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. Shraddha Kapoor plays the titular character, with Randeep Hooda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Anant Joshi and Siddharth Jadhav among the supporting cast.
The film has been directed by Laxman Utekar, who previously directed Chhaava (2025). It is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Laxman Utekar and Karishma Sharma under Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations.
Principal photography for the project began in November 2025 and wrapped up in May 2026.
‘Eetha’ Release Date and Teaser Details
The film was initially scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 28, 2026. However, its release was later pushed to December 4, 2026, to avoid a box-office clash with Yash’s Toxic and Khosla Ka Ghosla 2.
The official Eetha teaser was released digitally in June 2026 after making its theatrical debut alongside Cocktail 2.
The film has also been linked to a minor controversy, with Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s family and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) reportedly seeking a change in the title so that it more directly honours the celebrated folk artist.
