Actress Anjali Arora, who played Maa Sita in the recently released Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, has spoken about the diverse group of people who worked on the film. She highlighted the contributions of Muslim crew members and said that devotion and humanity should not be defined by a person’s religion.
Anjali recalled working with several Muslim members of the film’s crew, including musicians and technicians who contributed to a project based on the story of Lord Ram.
Anjali Arora On Sanatan Pride And Humanity
During the conversation, Anjali addressed the criticism faced by people who openly express pride in their religious identity. She also spoke about Hindus who, according to her, sometimes mock those who proudly identify as Sanatani.
She said that faith should be accompanied by respect and humanity towards others. Anjali explained that a person who genuinely believes in God should be able to respect people from different religions.
She said, “They are those people who believe in religion but do not believe in humanity.” She further explained that she would treat a Muslim person with the same respect with which she would view a person as being close to God.
Muslim Crew Members Worked On Lord Ram’s Film
Anjali also shared her experience of working with Muslim members of the Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha team. According to the actress, several crew members, including spot dadas, light dadas and music directors, were Muslims.
She recalled that these team members contributed to the film’s devotional songs and music despite the story being centred on Lord Ram.
“There were so many people on our set who were Muslims who were working. Our spot dada, light dada, music directors, they all are Muslims. So, they also sang the songs of Lord Ram. They also made music for Lord Ram’s movie,” she said.
For Anjali, a person’s religion does not determine whether they can contribute to a creative project or connect with its spiritual themes. She added that what matters is having the discipline and values taught by religious scriptures.
“It does not matter whether you are a Hindu or a Muslim. You need to have that discipline inside you which our scriptures teach us,” she said.
